Attention, citizens! Or, since our new Mayor has insisted on segregating us...attention, fellow Paixao visitors! As you've no doubt noticed by this point, many fine shops in the city are turning our perfectly good business away. And why? Because we're different. Because we haven't conformed. In an effort to mold you into a bland, one dimensional shadow of your former selves, Marcus Praetoris has put into effect a new law, forcing you to either be what he wants you to be or suffer the consequences.

Lucky for you, not every shop and citizen in Paixao fears change. The gypsies are more than happy to take your money for whatever goods they might have, as well as a few other shops in what no doubt our dear Mayor might call "the poor district."

You have a goddess on your side, friends. I've struck a deal with our gypsy neighbors -- until the powers that be overturn this archaic law and accept us for who we are, I'll provide you with anything you need, for a discounted price. And I do mean anything.

You'll find my temporary shop across the street from the Cheap Prayer. I think I'll call it "New Hope."

I have yet to address the city as a whole since my election to the position of mayor, and for that, I do apologize. But at last I have selected my staff who, over the next few days, will be aiding myself in rejuvenating Paixao. We have already begun the simpler stages of this process; now, we are to act, and the fruits of efforts will soon be on display for all.

I take the time now to address any pressing matters that any of our foreigners may currently have.

Mayor Marcus Praetoris

Good news, Paixao-ans? Paixaooanin...

GOOD NEWS, PEOPLE OF PAIXAO.

The so-called "Mayor" has decided to schedule his first interview since the election with yours truly. Ooh, I'll have to find something special to wear. So, as for all that burn the place to the ground nonsense, it'll have to wait for another time. I do apologize for the false advertising. But really...

WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW? YOU CAN'T HEAR THE DRUMS. [tap tap tap tap]

HAHAHAHAHAHA...

[ooc: this is after the previous message board entry that got everybody so flustered, and before the current log of the meeting. apologies for not posting this beforehand. your heroic characters may feel free to berate him or at least breathe a sigh of relief. your comedic characters can ponder exactly what the term is for a paixao citizen. your evil characters can call him a wuss and tell him to kill everyone anyway.]

I am looking for Marcus Praetoris. I wish to speak to him. Does anybody know where I would be able to find him?

[a pause, then, in a quieter and slightly worried tone...]

What are Time Lords? And what is the Time War?

ENOUGH.

MARCUS PRAETORIS...YOU HAVE THREE DAYS TO MAKE YOURSELF SEEN. OTHERWISE, PAIXAO AND EVERYONE IN IT WILL BE LEFT IN ASHES.

OH, AND CONGRATULATIONS.

We have gotten the results counted for the elections. You may thank a certain meerkat for the delay, who barged in and demanded a recount when we were initially prepared. We will not do another recount, thank you.

The new mayor of the City of Paixao is Marcus Praetoris. It may take us all time to transition.

[Private to Timon]

Timon, I would like my pen back, if you'd please.

Hello citizens of Paixao and those in between worlds. I am Marcus Praetoris, and I have decided, rather last minute, to submit my name for the upcoming elections. I came to this decision when I sat outside my home and took a look at those moving through the streets. I found that I was troubled by how our city has grown and changed so extraordinary as time has gone on, and we have shifted far from our customs because of our lack of leadership.

This is wrong.

With this election, I believe that it’s time we return to the traditions that we know to be true in our hearts. Please, my citizens, stand by me so that we may reclaim our city and nourish it back to its proper standing.

My name is Tear.

I'm not certain as to the reliability of the local medical facilities, and do not wish to discredit them in any way. However, if you find that you have sustained an injury that needs to be treated with relative haste and doesn't necessarily require a visit to the hospital, feel free to seek me out. I have been studying as a healer for the past five years and would like to do what I can to aid the other "guests" of this city.

Thank you for your patience; we are now fully prepared. If you wish to run for the position of mayor, please reply to us here, and you can begin your campaign whenever you choose. Remember: you must be a citizen of Paixao in order to be considered an official candidate.

If you still wish to register you may, as always, come by our temporary offices at I8. You will need to fill out and submit our application for citizenship.

Elections will be held at the end of the week at noon in the same location.

Feel free to ask any questions regarding your campaign or the elections themselves.

For new arrivals, please refer to my previous message addressing the city's situation.

Thank you,

Rosemary
mayoral secretary

((Feel free to just fill out the citizen app and submit it. No worries lol. It is easier that way.))

I've only been a guest in Paixao for a short while, but I'm interested in learning more about it.

Suffice it to say, I was wondering if anyone could assist me in better understanding the city's history, government and commerce. I'd rather consult various sources - both locals and visitors, if possible - so that I can gain a broader understanding and an unbiased view of this place.

Hello, darlings! My name is Ursula and it's a pleasure to introduce myself to all of you. I've been quiet, I know, but you simply must know how difficult it is to get settled here. Accommodations aside, it's just so unsettling to adjust in a new environment.

But! Let us not get all tangled up in the details, mmm? [low chuckle] No, I'm here to talk about the tricky matter of business.

I don't expect any of you to know this, but I've quite the hand at magic. And, though I fully admit to a little misconduct in the past, I'm more than happy to help the poor, innocent, suffering and unfortunate souls like yourselves. Yes, yes, magic doesn't make the world go 'round, but it's more reliable than you think!

Everyone has secret wishes, pets, make no mistake about that. Things you looong for that you simply can't ask for, to say nothing of actually possessing! And if you did try to get your heart's desire, what happens then? [a slight growl enters her voice] Judgement.

If you find yourself in need of what you can't get for yourself, seek me out. Follow the river down from the Niflheim gate to the ocean beyond. There, you will see a single torch in the shore. Light it and wait. I'll be there.

[and back to the musical lilt] Let's make a deal, my friends.

[OOC: Attempted lock to Organization XIII members, Hades, Maleficent and Ursula. He has computer experience, but he's neither familiar with these systems yet, nor would he be a perfect hacker. Think "HARD" by DC standards.]

The Organization's probably expecting a scouting party anyway, so posting here's no big surprise. I have experience in Castle Oblivion's Halloweentown, so anyone who wants to come help me find a door to the next level, speak up. I'm going regardless.

I want to see the Islands again, fake or not.

Edit: Go to the ScoutingParty chatroom. We'll get everyone up to speed.

Is it common for people to leave and come back to this place?

Lei'ella, Yorda, are either of you still here?

Greetings, Paixao.

As I'm sure you've noticed, there are some of you who have come into possession of certain documents found around the city. Doubtless you all are wondering what they mean. Sadly, I'm incapable of providing you every answer, especially on an insecure line such as this.

But that isn't to say I can't tell you anything at all. You all have questions, especially in regards to your entrapment.

There is a castle in between the realms of light and darkness, a place where memories can influence its very structure. It is where the group you know as the Organization has chosen to perform its research.

Welcome to Castle Oblivion.

You've already begun your ascension with the find of the islands beyond the door. Within those islands, if you wish to find it, there is another door leading to the next floor, and more beyond each world of memories you explore.

At the top of this castle, you will find all of your answers and a way home. Can you make it?

Thanks for your help the other day, Luke.

About this darkness... does anyone know any way to dispel it? I can't get any of my light spells to work for longer than a minute when I go out. I don't have any trouble getting around, but it would be nice if I could actually see things. And I doubt everyone can find their way around like I can. It's certainly some of the most powerful magic I've ever encountered.

Those strange animals are gone, too... lumens, right? I haven't seen a single one since this started.

And it affects this little thing, too. I can only use it inside now.
