[aaaaand here comes the Doctor, bright and cheerful despite the circumstances]

It's clear to me that a lot of us are in need of some fun right now, after everything that's happened recently. The city falls, we're kicked out, a lot of us have run out of tea... [he pauses with a little sigh, as though reflecting on the abominable tea shortage]

It's also occurred to me that I'm getting married. Again. I know the invitations have been sent out... sort of, but I know you're all just dying to know, when will this fabulous event be held?

[a dramatic pause and then]

Soon. Very soon, in fact.

Geez, what's with you people? Why are you wasting your breath on the mayor?

Have you all forgotten how we're actually trapped here? The whole castle thing? We're pretty much being held hostage here! Not to mention what about all that worlds unravelling stuff? Doesn't that concern you people at all?

I mean, if you all want to be as delusional as the mayor, go nuts, but I'm going to find this supposed top floor and wipe the floor with the guy responsible for all this.

My people, you true citizens of our city of light. I apologize for my silence in this terrible time. In the chaos that ensued after the heinous act of yet another interloper, I found myself torn in several directions all at once and only now do I have the time to give you an official word.

Paixao, you have shown your strength these last few days. While clearing away the remains of our city and striving to find the bodies of our loved ones, we've barely had the chance to grieve, yet you forge on with your head held high. You are the spirit of our beautiful town. And I know as long as we hold on to that, no madness or violence will sway us.

I will not lie to you good folk. It will take time to rebuild. We have a very long road ahead, made all the more dangerous by the presence of those outsiders who have the very gall to condescend to us in our time of sorrow. But we don't need their help. Too many times have they shown their true colors. Too many times has their belief that they are somehow better than us lead to their complete disrespect and abuse.

We can restore the light to Paixao, we can rebuild our paradise. But only if we turn away these reckless foreigners once and for all. I regret now the hand of offering I extended to them once. They do not deserve our compassion or understanding.

And to you outsiders listening -- know this: you are not welcome here. Your presence will not be tolerated. Your help is not needed. I don't care where you go or how, but you will not be allowed into our city again. I swear it.

-- Mayor Marcus Praetoris

Hello everypo--one. Everyone.

So, I believe I have some information pertaining to the tragedy that happened here a few days ago...

You see... I-I think I might have had something to do with it--NOT on purpose! Not at ALL!

I had no idea at the time this might happen and even then, what I did--it couldn't have been the cause; there's no way! But... I still have a feeling it contributed somehow.

This... guy said I might be able to help him with something and gave me a place to meet him. He said he suspected there was something mechanical in the walls and ceiling and asked me to use my magic to make some holes to check. He said he'd come back and fill them in after, so... I did what he said. I didn't see anything suspicious though. I was SUPER careful about where I checked...

A few hours later, the domes were falling. I'd like to believe it was a coincidence, but I don't think it was. I couldn't be.

I did everything I could to help, but... still. The whole city's now in ruins...

I'm so sorry everyone.

【 FILTERED FROM THE ORGANIZATION | KNOWN VILLAINS 】

It has come to my attention that while my bowtie wearing fiancé might know many a folk to invite to our joining ceremony, I do not. And, I am not fully aware of whom he has invited. That being said, the best solution to this awkward issue is this:

YOU ARE ALL INVITED TO THE WEDDING OF
THE DOCTOR
(the lad with the affinity for bowties)
AND
SEXY
(the woman living with the lad with the affinity for bowties)

There!
Problem solved, I should think!

…although that only resolves the one awkward issue.

Another is that I haven’t the foggiest whom will even conduct the ceremony. Does anyone know where I can attain one of those earthling priest persons? Or someone else who can perform such a task?

So, you’re the lot that wants to find a way outta here. Funny, it looks to me like you don’t.

Yep. Settling into those bogus homes of yours, I’d say you’d just about given up. And here I thought you’d have a little more fight in you, all things considered. Guess you don’t care as much about your friends as they thought. I mean, just look how long they’ve been waiting for you to come home. After this long, can’t say I’d wanna wait for you either.

But, hey, that works for me. With you all here, that just means one less thing in our way. All according to plan; I should have known he’d be right about you.

So, I was kind of thinking I might need to find a job if I'm gonna be here awhile... trouble is, I'm only really good at fighting, and looks like not many people need a hired sword around here. Do they?

I'm goin' stir-crazy without somethin' to do, though! Gotta keep myself busy! The money wouldn't hurt, either... Anyone need any odd jobs done? Stray cats that need rescuing? Anything?

[a very tired, but cheerful-sounding Doctor sounds off. He sounds older now, more wearied than he did before, but he's making an effort to keep the majority of it out of his voice]

Right, then! Hello, everyone. Sorry I've been out for so long, but somebody decided it would be a good idea to try and blow me up, among other things. And I see it's snowing! Not that I couldn't see it where I was, at least until I was blindfolded, but I love snow! That's brilliant. Only how's it falling beneath the domes? That's something. I might have to poke it with a stick.

Anyway, enough about me. How are you all doing? And Roxas, don't think I've forgotten about you. If you're ready, I can help as soon as I recover.

[Well, if anyone had more information, this seemed like the place to find it.]

So..

Has there been anyone here who's seen this 'Organization' before?

[a deceptively proper-sounding and feminine voice sounds over the MB, sounding both amused and more than a little confused]

Snow, falling beneath the domes? I must admit, this is not at all what I expected. But then, I wasn't expecting this place at all, I was expecting Wonderland. It's lovely; certainly better than that dirty snow in London. But what could possibly be causing it? [despite the slight playfulness of those words, Alice's tone is dry and sarcastic] Perhaps a snowman somewhere had a cold.

Several of you have been here far longer than I. Is this normal?

Awwooo… Oh this is not good, not good-Has anyone seen Remus…?

I can’t find him anywhere. He hasn’t come home, he’s not in his usual spots and I’m worried he’s-Well, I’m worried he isn’t going to and…

And…

Disappeared…

Hello everyone! It's the Doctor here. ...the one that doesn't eat fish custard or wears a bow-tie. The one that was here first.

Right, so, just to get this out of the way now-- No, I'm not sure where my future self has gotten to, but I doubt there's any reason to be alarmed, well, not too much anyways. Not yet. You see, if I--he is in some kind of trouble, well, he's rather good at getting out of trouble. So there's no reason to panic. [Though he's saying this, there is a faint concern hidden in there.]

So, yes, where was I? Ah, right. Me, being here first.

You see, when I arrived here I was in my TARDIS. It's been sitting at low power for some time now, but there was a reason for that. Now that we've been here so long, I was able to use the power she's managed to store up, along with some modifications, to get the scanners, well, scanning. Scanning beyond the castle, to be exact.

And, well, that's the good news I'm afraid. Bad news from here on out.

[The Doctor's tone shifts at this point. He's serious... very serious, and obviously a bit bothered at what he learned.]

There's nothing out there.

No, it's not that they aren't working, believe me, they're working. There just was nothing to scan--no planets, stars or even strange anomalies. Just... emptiness.

Now, I wasn't able to boost the scanners enough to determine just how large the dimension we're in IS. It's possible we could be in some sort of pocket universe. Or there could be some sort of barrier, but the scanners should have picked up anything like that. Or, well, it's hard to say until we find out more about where and what this place we're in is.

I really do wish I'd had good news. We're about due for some at this point, I'd say.

Tsume? Blue...?

I wonder if any of you are still around.

I don't know if Toboe ever got to tell you about me before he disappeared...but he was really nice. I met him one day, and he was helping my friend Kakyuu and me look for my Papa.

My name is Nana.

He mentioned your names before, [she sounds a little sad] but he never had the chance to say any more...

Hello, Paixao. I am Colonel Jade Curtiss. Thanks to the rambling help of a man calling himself the Doctor, I've gotten the general gist of this place. Searching through past messages on this board has yielded me more questions than answers, but I suppose I can't be surprised. I only have one real question at this point, if someone would be kind enough to answer.

Is there anyone out there who knows who I am?

13 March 2011 @ 01:42 pm
I only have one very important question.

Has anyone seen Odette?

05 January 2011 @ 05:42 pm
[The Doctor's voice sounds off over the message board, sounding ever so slightly concerned, but not yet worried, as he speaks]

Hello, me again. Has anybody seen a man by the name of Lamington? Tall, silver hair... rather on the angelic side. Literally, I mean. I haven't really seen him in a bit, which is weird, because he's been staying with me.

15 October 2010 @ 06:08 pm
[An energetic, youthful voice crackles on the message board, broadcasting to anyone who'll listen. It sounds rather annoyed, though that quickly changes to enthusiastic amusement]

Alright, when’s this? This isn’t where I set the coordinates. The air smells… off. It’s an artificial world, isn’t it? Ah-hah, so that’s it. Right, then. I'm the Doctor; what seems to be the problem here? And don’t tell me there isn’t; I know trouble when I see it, and this is definitely troublesome. No, not the end of the uni – ah, maybe. But that’s alright, I’ve done this before, I’ll do it again. It’s the universe; something’s got to happen. So, then, what is it? Is there despair? Danger? Is the tea getting cold? Blimey, I hate it when that happens.

I can reset the TARDIS coordinates to five minutes past Amelia later. This is brilliant! New-old world where something’s not quite right; classic.

So this is a space to talk to everyone here, right?
Is anyone out there from Germany or Amestris?
Does anybody have a tally going of how many worlds people have come in from?
Has anybody charted out whether some worlds are alike to others or share historical events?
Does this city have a library or university?
Is there a hall or records?
Where can I research the history of Pai Xao?
Is there anyone who knows anything about inter-world travel?
Is there any continuity between the worlds people are coming from and the gate they came through?
I would appreciate having any of these questions answered, thank you.

Attention, citizens and guests of Paixao:

Despite the recent string of unfortunate events, please let me assure you that Paixao is a peaceful place. Our citizens are making every accomodation possible for you, our guests. Apartments are being emptied, and soon you will be allowed to apply for them. We are making further expansions to our schools so that all of those eligible can attend.

Paixao is a land of tradition, however. It is hard to believe that we are almost upon our centennial year. Our founders did not expect much when they set foot on this island, expecting only to live in isolationist peace. But we have had our highs and lows, our periods of economic growth and bustling trade, and it is due to all this that Paixao is what it is today, and can accomplish all these things. We must never forget that.

Therefore, it is my pleasure as mayor to invite you to our 95th Annual Foundation Day Festival. Admission, food, games and entertainment are complimentary, and catering will be generously provided by the Ersesat Company. However, because of this, I must ask everyone who plans to be there to RSVP in this post, so that our caterers will know how much food to prepare.

Though most of the fair is free of charge to everyone, this year we will also be holding a paid raffle, to help raise funding for our research into offworld transportation. The winner will receive his or her choice of prizes, the nature of which will be given in more detail at the event itself.

The festivities begin at the Jogo da Crianca Fairgrounds in three days' time, and I am also planning to attend. I hope to see all of you there.

Thank you,

The Mayor of Paixao
