My people, you true citizens of our city of light. I apologize for my silence in this terrible time. In the chaos that ensued after the heinous act of yet another interloper, I found myself torn in several directions all at once and only now do I have the time to give you an official word.

Paixao, you have shown your strength these last few days. While clearing away the remains of our city and striving to find the bodies of our loved ones, we've barely had the chance to grieve, yet you forge on with your head held high. You are the spirit of our beautiful town. And I know as long as we hold on to that, no madness or violence will sway us.

I will not lie to you good folk. It will take time to rebuild. We have a very long road ahead, made all the more dangerous by the presence of those outsiders who have the very gall to condescend to us in our time of sorrow. But we don't need their help. Too many times have they shown their true colors. Too many times has their belief that they are somehow better than us lead to their complete disrespect and abuse.

We can restore the light to Paixao, we can rebuild our paradise. But only if we turn away these reckless foreigners once and for all. I regret now the hand of offering I extended to them once. They do not deserve our compassion or understanding.

And to you outsiders listening -- know this: you are not welcome here. Your presence will not be tolerated. Your help is not needed. I don't care where you go or how, but you will not be allowed into our city again. I swear it.

-- Mayor Marcus Praetoris

Alright, fine. I'll admit it already. I lost the pen. Sheesh!

[Yes Rosemary, he's talking to you.]

[There's a frustrated sigh of a native, some scratching of paperwork, and then a few moments of nothing.]

You still have my pen.

[Yes Timon, she's talking to you.]

We have gotten the results counted for the elections. You may thank a certain meerkat for the delay, who barged in and demanded a recount when we were initially prepared. We will not do another recount, thank you.

The new mayor of the City of Paixao is Marcus Praetoris. It may take us all time to transition.

[Private to Timon]

Timon, I would like my pen back, if you'd please.

((Feel free to just fill out the citizen app and submit it. No worries lol. It is easier that way.))

PAIXAO – it has been long since the passing of Mayor Oturo Heirwidthal, and the city has continued on without a mayor in office. Despite our losses with City Hall, this should not stop us from electing a sixth mayor into the City of Paixao. A new guide is needed to stand before us and lead our citizens out of darkness.

For those who were not around at the time of Mayor Heirwidthal, he provided our city with exceptional aid, bringing in new technology and setting up the journal system that all of Paixao has benefited from. It is only unfortunate that he passed on before his studies in inter-dimensional travel was able to flourish…

But we must move forward, beyond his days.

We are now opening up mayoral elections.

Be advised, in order to run for mayor you must be an official citizen of Paixao. With City Hall out of our control, we have set up office with the building formerly known as Clan Centurio, located at I8 on the city map. The process is simple, and you will receive a certificate of citizenship after you apply.

More details in regards to citizenship will come shortly.
