Fine except for those more knowledgeable than you seem to be; the only problem with it is that it suggests femininity--even though the word is, in fact, gender neutral.

As silence tends to confirm guilt, we will simply assume that we were correct, either in whole or in part.

We suppose so. Though incidentally, it probably does fit more closely with the image you want to present to yourself; Adonis was a beautiful young man. Belles are thought of as beautiful young women (or people, at that) who are gracious, charming, popular, and sophisticated.
