Imagine my surprise wakin' up here in hallucination land to stand in line for a fuckin' computer. Or was it to get in? Fuck if I know, I was hopin' the map on this thing had an exit. According to the one person I've run into so far with personality, there ain't one.

So, since I gotta wait for these status effects to wear off where is a guy to go for an imaginary stiff drink? And do I need money, or do you use leaves here? I noticed they were in short supply, what with the fake trees and shit.

[Could he sound any more disinterested? Probably not, Seifer is fairly convinced he's hallucinating still.]

Kinda figured that, what with the being captured and held prisoner part of this little vacation we're on. Speaking of, what the hell do you people do here, anyway? Just... wait around, or what?

Right now, we're trying to work our way up this castle, as far as I can see. But it's not easy getting past the guards, and they've started to arrest people who try.

Guards huh? And they got a jail here?

Not from what I've seen of the city so far. I wonder if they're taking those they arrest somewhere hidden.

Most likely. Gotta wonder what for, though?

I don't know for certain. Wherever the prison is, they definitely don't want us to find it.

Well, yeah, otherwise there'd be a prison break every afternoon after lunch.

You must have little faith in the prison guards, wherever they are.

I've met a good number of prison guards in my life. Generally, they're idiots.

Perhaps the ones in here are not as idiotic as the ones you've met. I've met plenty of capable people in this city, but no one yet seems to know where any of that sort of thing is.

See, that's the bigger problem. Where the hell is this place, and how the hell do we get back out?

We climb to the top floor, and fight our way out.

Lifelong mercenary. [From the way he says it, he definitely means lifelong.] One of the few gunblade specialists on top of it.

And what's a gunblade?

I keep forgettin' we ain't from the same world. What it sounds like, a sword with a gun for a handle. Not really a ranged weapon though, does close-range damage like a sword, only nastier.

That sounds useful. All I've got is my knife most of the time.

I've been looking into picking up something with a bit more range, but nothing's appealed to me yet.

[Voice] Especially surly ones.

[firacrux]

They got a weapon shop floatin' around this city? That'd be handy.

[Voice] Isn't Seifer surly by default?

[vorpalrising]

Among other things. It's Cid's shop, near Paixao's central station. There aren't too many weapons there, but it's worth a look.

[Voice] Yes! That's why he needs multiple expressions of surly.

I may have to drop by, just out of curiosity. There anything I should look out for around here, other than the rest of the unsavory folk?

The proprietor of the shop is rather surly, but he's not the bad sort.

As for looking out for anyone, beware of those called "The Organization". They've kidnapped people for their experiments. It's all got something to do with hearts, though I'm not sure why.
