Hello citizens of Paixao and those in between worlds. I am Marcus Praetoris, and I have decided, rather last minute, to submit my name for the upcoming elections. I came to this decision when I sat outside my home and took a look at those moving through the streets. I found that I was troubled by how our city has grown and changed so extraordinary as time has gone on, and we have shifted far from our customs because of our lack of leadership.

This is wrong.

With this election, I believe that it’s time we return to the traditions that we know to be true in our hearts. Please, my citizens, stand by me so that we may reclaim our city and nourish it back to its proper standing.

Adaption has doomed us. We are where we are today because of that adaption, and it has only brought us devastation.

Adaptation has not occurred in this city for quite a long time, and isn't likely to do so unless changes are made in the way your people look at outsiders (and thus, how outsiders will look at your people).

From a purely factual perspective, you are the weakest of the potential candidates for governance of this city. Your platform is inherently flawed along the lines of a bias that might run too deep to repair; electing you at this point would do irreparable damage to the people of this city, to say nothing of the actual physical damage caused by the inevitable conflicts spawned from the rhetoric you stand so adamantly by.

I must ask: how long have you been in this city?

A matter of days. However, I do not see time as you do. Suffice to say that I am certain of the knowledge I possess.

And as I see it, you cannot judge.

It is becoming increasingly clear that you are unwilling to listen to reason or logic. You do not dwell in a world of absolutes. Whether you admit it to yourself or not, shades of gray do exist here, and will continue to do so despite all efforts to the contrary. That is the nature of life, and change is its essence.

I hope that one day, maybe we will see eye to eye.

I fear that day will be many centuries in coming.
