This situation I find most perplexing.
Almost as much as it is vexing.
Many times I have retraced
my memories to attempt to learn how I was placed
in this city, strangely domed,
and nothing like the land I roamed.
And this device I hold within my hand
I’ve only begun to understand.
A way to speak with others I assume,
so my previous subject I resume.
People here, I ask of thee
information—if thou wouldst, ASAP.
What is it that thee know
about this place, this “Paixao?”
Almost as much as it is vexing.

As to just how that can be the case, I'm afraid you'll have to ask someone else.

Could it be that all we see is no more than a facade?
You, sir, would not happen to have more information?
Even if it is not something regarding the causation.

whatever knowledge you possess
would help to alleviate some of my stress.

when you claim that I am not unique.
Would you please explain
what has caused you to complain?

The way I chat
cannot be changed
no matter how my words are rearranged.
Thou art not the first I've met
who by my speech is so upset.

Perhaps where he is from it is a crime?

I believe he just has nothing better to do with his time. It's rather quite pathetic to complain about one's preference for rhyme.

but what one has one must embrace.
How rare it is to find one who has faced the same.
Wouldst thou mind giving thy name?

But it's at the, um, Porfavore's........ wait, that doesn't rhyme...
... Uh, that's all I got.

But information on where to eat, I most certainly would not dismiss.

Mayhaps it will another day?
Stepping away from this place's cuisines,
I don't think "misanthrope" means what you think it means.
