Sephiroth will most likely be joining us at Central Station.

Unacceptable. Explain yourself.

Sephiroth is from their time, Tseng. He is not yet maddened. He is a valuable Shin-Ra asset that I refuse to let fall into Kadaj's hands.

There a number of flaws with that plan. First of all, history takes its course whether you want it to or not; there's nothing to say he won't become maddened while dealing with you.

Secondly, there is a chance that Valentine has already informed Sephiroth of his future and thus the man may well be playing you for a fool.

Thirdly, Kadaj has all the intellect of a wet flannel, so it is unlikely that Sephiroth would join his cause anyway. The operational risk is far greater than the possible outcome - rendering this decision on your part utterly unacceptable, as I have already said.

For your first two points, I suppose I will have to take the chance. Given what he and I have said to each other, I highly doubt the second is a possibility.

While I do agree with you on the subject of Kadaj's intelligence, I am unwilling to take that chance. Sephiroth will be meeting us at Central Station as I have stated beforehand. He is remarkably clear-minded and an asset I will not allow to slip from my hand.

I have previously stated to you that if you did not start acting in a rational manner, then I would begin to work at a counterpoint to your orders. I am attempting to tell you sense, Rufus. Even Reno is telling you so. Does this mean nothing to you?

This is the last warning I am going to give you. Either give some rational thought and time to this matter, or I will have to take issues into my own hands.

I cannot allow Sephiroth to not be under my control. It is as simple as that. He is too potentially dangerous to be allowed to join with Kadaj or roam about loose. As I told Reno, I will not be walking into this alone. I will have yourself, Reno, Sabra, Lorelei, Rafael, and this Aki as well.

I trust myself and my life to you daily, Tseng. Do not threaten me and make me feel uneasy with that decision on my part.

Don't seek to patronise me, Rufus. I know full well, as do you, that if Sephiroth decides he wants your life, we will be powerless to prevent it, and I will not have you die in a similar way to your father when under my protection.

I assure you, I will not act in any way that jeopardises your safety. Your orders are not ensuring it, so I simply will not follow them unless you give them further thought.

The snake held under a boot is safer than the one unseen in the grass.
