In Response To Recent Events

Dear Citizens of Paixao,

The sudden loss of my rival and adversary, 'The Mayor', has been just as shocking to me as I'm sure it was to all of you. I too wanna hear some answers, hear more details about this horrendous crime and know just who is responsible. However, I doubt we'll be hearing anything soon from the officials due to lack of information shared in the past about certain events. None the less, anyone who does know something about it, I trust... Well, I hope you do what's best with the information.

On the note of the mayors seat now being free, I boldly accept the big comfy chair and take on the role of becoming your leader, C.E.O, and 'ol Mayor myself. As your leader person, it's in my best interest to look out for the well bein' of citizens n' guests of the city, doing all in my power to keep 'em safe from harm and keep 'em as informed as I have over the several past months.

-that reminds me, any gifts you wish to present to me for all my hard work will be accepted. You know, gold, pearls, diamonds, expensive jewellery... That kinds stuff.

Sincerely,

The Future Mayor of Paixao

I am afraid, good, ah, sir, that the position is open only to citizens of Paixao, should we have an election. At this point in time, a temporary Mayor has assumed duty until we can make a decision on an election. As such, it is no open.

You are welcome to apply for citizenship to the city, if you are certain you wish to pursue this path.

I must note, as well, that further attempts to impersonate the Mayor will not be met kindly. It is a serious offense.

Sir, I am afraid that it wasn't your seat to begin with. Yes, our temporary Mayor is a citizen of Paixao, as are all other officials in the city. If you are interested in actually applying for citizenship, you will want to come to City Hall to apply. However, at this point in time, the building is still closed off by the police.

Citizenship issues have never been brought up before because this is the first time that it has been required to be mentioned. We've never had a guest desire to take leadership in our city.

I wish you would remove the entire title, sir. There are no guarantees that the citizenry would even elect you in the first place, and such claims are presumptuous at best.

Unfortunately, City Hall is the only place where you can apply. It will reopen to the public upon completion of the investigation.

The people of Paixao do not appreciate presumptuous guests, sir, especially those who seem to think that they will lead a city of people they have never met, or brothered to get to know.

Your insistence and nerve to stake claim on the Mayorship would make one think that you had something to do with Mayor Heirwidthal's death. If I were you, sir, I would watch the image I was presenting.

Timon! Are you sure you'd wanna go applying for citizenship? I don't know if that's a real good idea or not. Maybe... Maybe you should see if someone like Godot would do it! 'cause he wants to stay in this city, and I bet he would team up with you, and he'd have more of a shot probably 'appealing to the citizens.' But I donno. This is all really not... good.

...and the investigation probably will take too long.

[Locked to Timon]

Maybe someone could sneak in past it all and see what's up? I bet they won't tell us anything...

I probably shouldn't be thinking like this.

If the voting's only open to citizens, how are we supposed to vote for ya?

[identity profile] open-zipper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, that's an idea!

...If they let us...

I FAIL TO SEE WHY YOU SHOULD ASK FOR SUCH THINGS, AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE ON THE LOCAL FOLIAGE.

[SCREENED TO TIMON]

BE CAREFUL. I DO NOT BELIEVE I NEED TO TELL YOU YOU'VE ASSUMED A DANGEROUS POSITION.

SHOULD YOU NEED ANYTHING (ASIDE FROM JEWELS), DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK.

Don't people usually have to get elected to office? I don't remember there being any elections...

You shouldn't put the cart before the horses...

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY SOMEBODY WOULD GIVE A ROCK AS A GIFT.

[SCREENED TO TIMON]

I UNDERSTAND, AND I REPEAT: SHOULD YOU NEED ANYTHING, ASK.

I HAVE HEARD IT IS "THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS." WHAT THOUGHTS DOES A ROCK CONVEY?

[SCREENED TO TIMON]

SUCH AS?

It's a saying. It means don't get ahead of yourself.

[identity profile] kauaihula.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Do you really?

If you did, I don't think you'd be asking people for gifts.
