We're currently to the far southwest. I don't think it matters which way around you go, but you want to travel around the outside of the city. I wouldn't try going through it; parts can't be safe and it would probably end up taking longer. Once you've made it around, keep going to the southwest, through the fields there. A lot of us are camping by a small abandoned church out there.
