A general idea would be acceptable. Particularly, I'm interested to know what types of environments one might expect, and how many monsters are present on average.

From the looks of it... they could lead just about anywhere. After the first one opened up, you could even hear talk of people recognizing the land. Guess they looked like somethin' from where they musta come from.
